Default cPanel - WHM - Caching Name Server Problems (6/17)

We have gotten several tickets regarding problems with clients not being able to see thier site, thinking the server is down. Which is not the case. CentOS and cPanel had a conflict today. I am attaching an screenshot and a link to cPanel forums.

I forgot to add that this has been fixed on all our shared and reseller web servers.

For those that preffer not to go to the cPanel forums, I will quote what happened here:

"CentOS announcement list as the notice went out a couple of days ago that v3.5 went final and all v3.4 installations would automatically update to v3.5 whenever you next ran a yum update, which is what happens when upcp runs overnight."

Default My site has been down for over 10 hours now

Since 11:30 CDT last night, I have been unable to access my CPanel, or view any pages on my site or subfolders. It'd be nice to know what's going on since I'm always referred to these dad gum forums when I submit a ticket.

We were attacked with an Httpd flood yesterday that caused excessive web load on mysql and apache, causing after that for Apache (the webserver) to die.

And that's the reason why apache locked out and wasn't able to come up after that. This should have been fixed, and now I am implementing measures against the people who attacked us.

I am going to offer billing credit towards all the clients that request it. We don't like to see our clients mad with us. It is sad that when you are out doing something that is not online, or you are taking a day off, these kind of things happen. And when you are online, waiting for these kind of things to happen they don't

Thank you guys for your support & your business. I am sorry about what happened.
Francisco
