Default Zalman 2D/3D Convertible LCD Monitors Work, Don't Impress

The iZ3D monitor isn't the only gimmicky gaming monitor at CES. Zalman has 19- and 22-inch LCDs that require goofy goggles to make your World of Warcraft jump off the screen. Two versions of the glasses and more info after the jump.
The tech does work, and it looks slightly better than the cereal box 3D we're used to, but for some reason I just can't get excited about "3D" gaming; I have a feeling that 3D movies never went mainstream for the same reason. Zalman says they want lengthier field tests as they max out at about 2 hours of continuous WoW in the office, but they haven't experienced any side effects. The viewing angle for the 3D is about 10 degrees vertically and 90 degrees horizontally, so don't invite your friends over for Finding Nemo parties. The monitors will start around $499 and have a non-3D mode you can switch on if you get self-conscious about your new spectacles. – Karson Thompson
