Can you also provide me with the index.php files from the July 31st backup?

Thank you.
It would be July 2005 - still works?

Try deleting the index.php files, and then uploading your files.

If you want the backup PM me, I will give you a download link.

Francisco

I didn't realize it was from 2005. That may not work.

That was exactly what I did, I deleted index.php and reuploaded, I even viewed the file after uploading to make sure it was correct.
However, when going to to the page, the hacked version is still there.

Hmm,

use this www.megaproxy.com/freesurf - and see if the site is catched by your ISP or you computer.

IF YOU SEE THE SITE HACKED MESSAGE AGAIN

Read on...

The company we contracted for server security (Rack911.com) has made an omission mistake (We told them that the backups were useless - and that we couldn't restore them)

I left the office this morning to go to the Repair Shop (to fix my car) and left the server in charge of them... Guess what they did... They restored YESTERDAY's backup (the one poisoned by the hacker with index files) -- that's the reason why you see the page again.

The server was not hacked again... It was this error, what made it all go in flames again.

I am posting an Screenshot of the Support ticket with Rack911.com to verify my statement (some hosts lie - we provide our honest answers to problems).

The last reply to the ticket, is a copy/paste from a reply above that mentioned NOT TO RESTORE BACKUPS.

Ah jeeze... it took me a couple hours to get things set right, and now I have people leaving my site since they don't feel it's safe. :/

I'm sorry. Please open up a ticket with billing... Everyone deserves a refund for this mistake.

I appreciate that offer.

However, now that I've fixed the issue and relaxed about it, I reflect that it wasn't a huge problem for me. Everything is back to normal on my site, and I only lost a few hours time working on it.

I'm sorry for the misfortunes with your company at the moment, and I sympathize. I hope that your customers will (or already have) arive(d) to the same conclusion I did... as you said, this is the internet, and things like this are bound to happen. Your responses have been timely, effecient, and fair even though I'm one of your smaller customers.

I wish you luck in sorting everything out, and offer my help if there's something (however unlikely) I can do.

Thanks,
James
