Default someone is hacking your database

I'll make a new email address and I'll get spam on it before I ever use it. I have 3 adresses I created and never told anyone, never put them on a web page and never sent an email from yet somehow I get spam on them.
I'm sure you don't sell them so I think someone is getting into your database.
I will creat a few more accounts and see if this keeps happening. It doesn't happen on all my email adresses, just a couple. But is what gets me is that I never used those accounts yet.
Pisses me off that people have to spam, i never buy anything from people that do that, and if everyone would do the same spam would be useless. If noone ever responded to spam people wouldn't spam, it would be useless, so some idiots out there must be buying stuff from these spammers.
I don't need a response from you, this is just something to look into for now. I'll see if it gets worse.

No-one besides us, have access to the MySQL forum database. The only way for them to know your email is if in your profile you don't hide your e-mail address from non forum members.

As i stated, I've never used these addresses.
The address I used for this forum, and all other forums, is not one of the addresses i'm getting spam from.

As I stated, I've never put these addresses on a web page, never gave them to anyone, just made them for future use. There is no way anyone could ever get these addresses that are getting spamed, yet they got it

Sometimes spam is sent to whatevertheywant @yourdomain.com, they just use standard names. If you didn't posted it anywhere, and you don't use it on our forums, then my first reply can be taken as not helpful.

OK, if your sure no one is getting into your database, I'll take your word for it.

It's just that i'm getting spam on such an obscure addresses, I deleted this one so I can tell you, it was bryanandprima@bryanandprima.com. I just wonder how anyone can happen to find that?

My origanal domain/email was bryan@bryang.com, hosted at wmis.net. About my 3rd year using it, I was getting over 80 emails a day, all spam. They ended up joining a service that would filter the mail, postini.com. I was down to 3 or 4 a day, but every once in a while mail I wanted would get caught in it. in 2000 I was loging into postini.com and saw I was getting over 600 emails a day, 600 ! ! !
I had to shut that acount down when I joined suffixhost because without postini filtering, well, think about sifting through over 600 mails a day to find 1 or 2 real ones, just think about what is was like if i went on vacation for a week, i'd just be screwed.
i know you have spam assasin, but I haven't figured it out (call me stupid) so I just shut down bryan@bryang.com, I'll start it later, after many bounce backs I'm sure it'll clear up. Now I never give my real addresses out anywhere, I have yahoo addresses for that.

OK, let me know if you have any more problems. If you use Outlook Express you can use Norton Spam program, if you use webmail. Then Spam Assasin would be the best choice.

If you would like some documentation about it, please reffer to: http://www.cpanel.net/docs/cp/spamAssassin.htm

Also, if you would like to change your email on the billing system e-mail me personally.

The email address I use here, and the one for billing aren't getting spamed, in fact now there's only one. It's my business one, for the place I work. It's that spam I've sure we've all seen. From another country, like India, they want to use your bank account to deposite a million dollars temperarely then they'll give you a percentage. I used to have a place to farward them that would take action but I lost it. What get's me is I get 1 every day.
I can't change that address because all my customers and my employer use it to contact me, and it's only one a day now, that's not that bad.

I really appreciate this forum, you've been very prompt as far as responding to any problems I've had, thank you.

No problem, thank you for the comments.

We're going to migrate to vBulletin as soon as they fix a problem with their Migration system (attachments are not getting imported). Also, the emails you are getting are from the famous 419 Nigerian Scams, you can see a few of them on www.419eater.com
